To connect to Oracle databases using the Oracle Intant Client (IC) no Oracle home software needs to be installed on the PC. When the Oracle Instant Client is installed you can connect through the ODBC driver.

Download the Oracle Instant Client software from technet.oracle.com. Follow the installation instructions and make sure you also add the ODBC files for the Instant Client.

After the installation, make sure you read the installation and configuration instructions.

When you have fully configured the Instant Client, follow the instructions to connect through ODBC to Oracle.
