When pivot table is selected as target for the fetched results the data will be attached to a pivot table in Excel. SQL*XL will create a new pivot table and attach the resultset. When a pivot table already exists (query refresh) SQL*XL will keep the pivot table with all the settings you may have set and just replaces the query results.
