Our testers needed to be able to easily extract data from our production database in order to populate test instances.

Approach taken

By using SQL*XL this process was expedited. We select the subset we need; in the spreadsheet it is then easy to replace proprietary names in specific columns and then reinsert the data into a testing instance.

Results

We are very happy with the performance and flexability of SQL*XL.
