Requirements to meet

Let end users run enquiries against the database.
Hide the SQL from the end users but still provide the querying capabilities.

Issues to tackle

The users run enquiries that I have set up for them. They love the output but find it difficult to prepare the SQL as they don't have enough practice.

Approach taken

I use the normal fully featured version of SQL*XL and some of the users have an enquiry only version that you made for us. (red. a read only version can be made free of charge for you)
I use my copy of SQL*XL every day for making enquiries into the database. I tend not to use it much for updating but it is very useful when I do.

Results

I love the software and would recommend it's use to anyone.
