Bond order

Bond order assesses the number of bonds between two atoms in a molecule orbital (MO) formalism. It gives the number of bonds between two atoms.

b = (n-n*)/2

n: number of bonding orbitals
n*: number of anti-bonding orbitals

Note that non bonding orbitals are ignored.
