Debugging Excel macros

One good way to figure out what is happening is to debug the macro. In your spreadsheet press Alt-F11 to open the VB environment. Look for your macro (when you recorded it it is usually stored in module1).

Put the cursor inside the procedure (somewhere between begin and end). Then press F8 to step through the macro. Keep pressing F8 until your macro is finished.

Does it run all steps?
In the debugging session you can also inspect the values of variables etc.
