Accidental deleting emails in Outlook 2000

It is possible in Outlook 2000 to accidentally delete email when you opted to have the sent emails to be saved in the email folder instead of in the sent items folder.

A copy of sent emails is usually stored in the sent mail folder. However you can chose to save the sent messages in the original folder from which you sent the item. In the advanced E-mail options you can tick the box for "In folders other than the Inbox, save replies with original message".

The problem arises when you delete a mail folder. Suppose you empty a folder moving the emails to another folder and then continue to delete the now empty folder.  You would think outlook now administrated the emails to belong to the new folder. However this is not the case. It still thinks they are in the folder you just deleted. Actually it was not deleted yet. Outlook moved it into the deleted items folder. When you reply to one of the emails the reply will be sent in the folder that is now in the deleted items! When you chose to empty your deleted items the email will be lost!
