Give Joomla category a different style

Give Joomla category a different style

Joomla sites are separated into categories and further into sections. To format a particular category in a different style you can specify a class suffix. Editing the stylesheet to add CSS for that class will render pages in that format when they are listed under that category.

On the menu item that gives access to the category you can set the page class suffix for the category.

Now edit the CSS file to copy the original class to the new one with suffix. Consider the following example assuming we specified a suffix of SPECIAL.
/* Original class*/
.contentpaneopen {
border : 0px ridge #DCDCDC;
}
/* Customized class*/
.contentpaneopenSPECIAL {
border : 1px ridge #AA0000;
}
