Charge disproportionation
Charge disproportionation occurs when a charge is broken up into two or more charges that are unequal. For example:
charge -3 -> -2 and -1.
Disproportion in a redox reaction is the situation where the oxidation state of an element is simultaneously raised and lowered. E.g.: 2Cu+ ->Cu2+ + Cu
Comproportionation is the reverse of disproportionation.
