Vectors in Mathematica

To define 2 vectors and to calculate the vector product (cross product) type the following in a mathamatica workbook:

v1 := {1, 0, 0}
v2 := {0, 1, 0}
v3 := Cross[v1 , v2]

To show the outcome v3 type v3 and press Shift Enter
The output is displayed as {0, 0, 1}

Note that inner product can be found using the formula Dot:
Dot[v1,v2]

Working with degrees in Mathematica

To use degrees instead of radians you can add the Degree keyword in Mathematica. Examples:

Plot[Cos[x Degree],{x,0,180}]
