extract all tables in a schema at once

My main requirement for such software is to actually use it to extract all the tables for a schema as part of decommissioning old schemas.
Is it possible to extract all tables at once?

Sure it is.
The software runs select statements to retrieve your database data into Excel. You need a select * from table statement for each of your tables. Luckily SQL*XL can create these for you.
In the SQL dialog, enter the SQL editor. Select the schema you want to dump in Excel and open the tables node so you view all table names. Then right click on the tables node and choose the select option. SQL*XL will generate a select * from table statement for each table.
Note that the same can be done for views.
