NoSQL

NoSQL is an interesting non relational database. The central idea is to utilise the power of the unix file system and unix commands to work on a large volume of data. Not for all problems a relational database engine is the most efficient. The large relational database systems such as Oracle, IBM DB2 and others impose a huge overhead in terms of memory and cpu. The aim of NoSQL is to combine the power of unix scripting and the unix file system. Interaction with the database is done through shell scripts.  An interesting development I think.

The No-SQL motto: select fun, profit from real_world where relational=false
