Directly execute MySQL commands

MySQL commands can be directly executed from SQL*XL using the exec statement.

In the SQL*XL's SQL dialog the exec command can be used to execute a server command. Examples are:

exec show tables;
exec describe [table_name];
exec show databases;
exec show columns from [table_name];

Obviously you should replace [table_name] with the name of your table.

The above was tested in SQL*XL 4.3.20 and with MySQL ODBC version 5.1
