encOffice API

An encOffice API was developed. Users of encOffice can now create their own custom solutions with encOffice encrypting files from their own applications.

The following API was developed:

Object: encOffice.clsEncXLS

Methods:
Constructor1(ByRef Excel  as Excel.Application)
SaveEncrypted(ByRef Workbook as Excel.Workbook, ByVal NormalFileName as String, ByRef SecuredFile as String, ByVal Password as String)

Object: encOffice.clsEncDOC

Methods:
Constructor1(ByRef Word  as Word.Application)
SaveEncrypted(ByRef Document as Word.Document, ByVal NormalFileName as String, ByRef SecuredFile as String, ByVal Password as String)

Brief example of usage:
Code:
  objEncXLS.Constructor1 objExcel
  objEncXLS.SaveEncrypted objWorkbook, "c:\test.xls",
	     strSecuredFile, "a very strong password"

Code:
  objEncDOC.Constructor1 objWord
  objEncDOC.SaveEncrypted objDocument, "c:\test.doc",
	     strSecuredFile, "a very strong password"

For the full examples please see the attached VB6 project files.

Note that this API is available from encOffice version 1.1 (internal version 1.2.0.53)

Customer feedback on the encOffice API I created:

Quote:
Encouraged by your email I installed the software this afternoon and had immediate success it creating an encrypted spreadsheet via a Domino LotusScript program. Thank you for your help with this. I now need to do some further testing before deciding how to go forward.
