Recalculation after connection

Quote:
Is it possible to avoid having SQL*XL forcing a recalculation of my workbooks when it is enabled? I have a large model with a lot of calculations and I normally turn off automatic recalculation to avoid long wait times. But whenever I open up SQL*XL it forces a full recalc.

I do think it is good to have the software to recalculate the formulas when you reconnect. I do understand that it may be inconvenient in your case when you have a lot of formulas.

I noticed that when you record a macro of your connection to SQL*XL that that will not force the calculation. Perhaps that is something you can consider. Just record a macro when you are connecting and e.g. make a button on your toolbar to run it.
