SQL Server Management Studio: create CLOB table

To create a table with CLOB columns in SQL Server Management Studio Express 2005 you need to make columns of type varbinary(MAX) or varchar(MAX).

To create a table in the SQL Server management studio, open your database and right click the tables node.
Select New table and type the name for a column.
For the data type select either the varbinary(MAX) or varchar(MAX) datatype.
Press the save button to give your table a name.

The SQL to create the table looks something like this:

CREATE TABLE [clob_test](
     [clob_varbinary] [varbinary](max) ,
     [clob_varchar] [varchar](max)
)
