PIPT - Photo Induced Phase Transition

Photoinduced phase transition - PIPT - is a phenomenon in which weak light changes macroscopic properties such as electric conductivity, magnetiscm and optical properties.

Particularly, POPT in strong correlated electron system often occurs on the order of femto- or picoseconds; hence it has attracted attention both for scientific reasons and for its potential applications to ultrafast photoswitching devices.
