Executing a script held in a variable (exec in MS)

Is there a function with Advantage Database Server thats similar to the MS SQL function exec()? I'm having to create a query on the fly and I'm holding it in a variable and would like to execute it as such:   exec(@myQuery)

Hi,

I would expect Advantage as closely linked to IAnywhere (a subsidiary of Sybase) to support something like that. I do not have an example that I can show. Perhaps anyone else can help here?

As far as I know Sybase started with offering a program language inside the database. Was the syntax not close to Pascal? Later Oracle also added active script inside the database and that has become PL/SQL now.
