Losing formatting preferences after upgrading

Quote:
I always lose my formatting preferences when I upgrade SQL*XL.

The formatting preferences are stored in a file called sqlxl_settings.xls. It is rare that changes are made to that file when we build the upgrade. Only the formatting preferences are stored in this file. Other preferences are stored in the registry so after upgrading all that survives even when you uninstall SQL*XL first.

There is an easy workaround for your problem. Before installing the new version make a backup copy of the sqlxl_settings.xls file. After installing the upgrade just copy this old sqlxl_settings.xls file into the SQL*XL program directory.
