New activation key but SQL*XL is still expired

Recently a few customers have had the problem that the newly installed SQL*XL program did not work. Immediately after starting the software it says it is expired eventhough no previous installations of SQL*XL were made on the PC or a valid, recent activation key was entered.

SQL*XL has some protection built into it that prevents people from using the software beyond the agreed evaluation period. When this system detects that a common hacker's trick was used the software will permanently disable. It can only be enabled by applying a registration key obtained by paying for a license at www.oraxcel.com/order

There is a workaround. Please uninstall the software. When asked to removed unused shared components, answer Yes. After uninstalling, check that all files in the program directory have been removed. As standard this is in your program files directory. If there are still files left, remove them manually. Note that you should not run Excel upon uninstalling or deleting files. After you have fully uninstall check that your computer's date and time is set accurately to the current date and time. Then reinstall. The problem should be removed. Another option is to use another computer to evaluate further. Ensure the computer's date is set accurately to the current date and time.
