Bind database function result to Excel cell

A new Excel function was added to SQL*XL: SQLFunction. With the SQLFunction Excel function you can execute a function on the database displaying the function result as the cell value. It was already possible to run a select statement in the database displaying the results through the SQLQueryValue function. Now we expanded this with function calls.

As an example consider the following function. Suppose there is a function fn_age in the database in a package pck_persons. The function takes the birth date and returns the age of that person. The birth date input parameter is typed in cell A1. in A2 the Excel function SQLFunction is used: =SQLFunction("pck_persons.fn_age",A1)

Available from release 4.3.7.
