Problems with v4.3.1
19.05.08 at 15:04:40

I downloaded and installed v4.3.1 this morning. Excel 2007 and 2003 reflect the new version number and it installed without any errors. Now it will not run any Favorites - just does nothing. When I copy and paste a SQL script in the editor and run it, the message "Preparing Statements" shows in the lower left corner and nothing more happens. When I record a macro, all that is included is the connect statements, nothing else is included.

Why did v 4.2.8 work ok and 4.3.1 is not working?

I made a change to how multiple statements are run. Perhaps that causes it?

Does your SQL file contain a couple of statements?

Please send me your SQL file contents so I can check it out.

Thanks for looking at this. Thanks, too, for a quick reply. My project is holding until I get your input on how to proceed.

Here is my script:

ACCEPT SAL_PR_PD_END_DATE PROMPT 'Enter SALARIED PR Period End Date as YYYY/MM/DD:';

SELECT p.emp_id,
        l.ded_num, d.descr,f.ss_num, f.ou_id,
      SUM(NVL( l.amt, 0 )),
      p.gross_pay,
      e.pct, f.last_name, f.first_name, f.middle_initial

 FROM lab_tran l, deduction d, pr_chk_hist p, emp_ded e, employee f
 WHERE l.ded_num = '553'

   AND l.ded_num = d.ded_num
   AND l.pr_chk_sa_num = p.pr_chk_sa_num

AND ((p.pay_group_num IN ('200','250','325','750')
       AND p.prd_end_date = to_char(to_date('&SAL_PR_PD_END_DATE',YYYY/MM/DD')-7,'YYYY/MM/DD'))
       OR
       (p.prd_end_date = '&&sal_pr_pd_end_date'
       and p.pay_group_num IN ('100','300','400','700')))

   AND (p.emp_id = e.emp_id AND e.ded_num = '553')
   AND f.emp_id = p.emp_id

GROUP BY p.emp_id,f.ss_num, f.ou_id, l.ded_num,
        d.descr,
        p.gross_pay,
        e.pct,
        f.last_name, f.first_name, f.middle_initial

HAVING SUM(NVL( l.amt, 0 )) <> 0

ORDER BY p.emp_id

Thanks. There was a small problem with the Accept statement. In fact all these SQL*Plus like commands would have failed in the same way. The problem will have occurred in version 4.3.0 and 4.3.1.

I have fixed the problem and will make a new distribution tonight. Fix is made in version 4.3.2.

Thanks again for letting me know.
