Fixing RJ45 connectors
When making RJ45 connectors to a network cable (CAT5/UTP) the order of the 8 cables is important. As long as you do both sides of the cable in the same order it will work fine. The standard order is as follows. Position the connector with the flat side down so the little leaver sticks up. With the cable side pointing to the left and the connection side to the right the order of the wires is:
8. brown
7. white/brown
6. green
5. white/blue
4. blue
3. white/green
2. orange
1. white/orange
