Multi Row Update does not always return errors
15.06.07 at 18:48:43

When doing a Mulit Row Update, errors are not returned unless the "Review & Update" radio button is selected.  If the "Update Only" option is selected the message displayed indicates the update was successful.  For example, if I modify the data such that the PK will be violated...

When I select "Review & Update" I get the error message
"ORA-00001: unique constraint (...PK) violated
Row 2 Column 1" which I would expect.

When I select "Update Only" I get the message
"Updated 1 changes in 3 rows."  when in fact no changes were done.

Am I doing something wrong?

Also, is there any way to (optionaly) raise an error back to the caller rather than displaying the error message?

You are correct. I have made a correction. It will be released as SQL*XL 4.2.3.

Thanks!
