SQLQueryValue problem

Question:
I am building my SQL in the cells R19 to R78.
I use =SQLQueryValueVolatile(R19:R78) but it does not work.

Answer:
You are correct that this does not work. The function can only take the SQL as input. If you supply a cell reference instead of a SQL string Excel will put in the value of the cell. However when you pass in a range of cells the function will error. I am usually building the SQL in one cell first using the concatenate Excel function. Then I supply the SQL*XL SQLQueryValue function with the cell in which I concatenated all of the SQL substrings.

It may be an idea to change the function so it does take a range of cells as input for the SQL.
