Batch updates

To make modifications to the data in the database you need to bring the data first into Excel. Write a SQL select statement that will return the records into Excel. Once in Excel change the values but do not change the structure of the results (do not add/remove rows or columns and do not do sorts).

You can use the multiple rows update feature of SQL*XL to compare the data in Excel with the original database data. You can post each change back to the database.
