Call Oracle Stored Procedure to pull data in Excel

Hello,

Is there a way to use an Oracle Stored Procedure in the SQL Editor. The idea is to process the data before pulling it to Excel.

When I try to call a SP from SQL*XL - SQL, It recognizes that it is a an SP, but throws some error.

If this can be done, My work will be much reduced. I see an Action label "Execute", but it is dithered. If that is enabled, I think, it will solve my problem.

Thanks
Ramani

You can already do this. You can call your stored procedure in an anonymous PL/SQL block. If you want to do further work you can code it in the anonymous PL/SQL block also. Interaction with Excel can be achieved with bind variables.

Example:

declare
  n number;
begin
  myprocedure(n);
  :A1 := n;
end;
