Capture INSERT/UPDATE SQL in Excel

Atul from the USA asked the following question.

Question:
Is it possible to capture the INSERT/UPDATE SQL in Excel with SQL*XL?

Answer:
Yes it is. Just switch on the macro recorder in Excel and record the inserting and updating.

Note that you may feel more comfortable to create the insert or update statements yourself. SQL*XL can help with the functions in the insert function menu. You can use the statements in the SQL dialog to run them. If you record that in a macro you have a macro to run an insert/update statement. It would be very easy to tweak the code a little to do precisely what you want.
