SQL*XL API Syntax

Albert from The Netherlands asks the following question.

Question:
I am looking at an example you provided to connect from Excel to a database. The code shows the following lines. I want to modify these lines to make it specific for my database connection. Are these properties and methods described somewhere?

SQLXL.Database.ConnectionType = litSQLXLADO
SQLXL.Database.Connect UserName:="scott", PassWord:="tiger", DBAlias:="ora817", ConnectionString:="Provider=OraOLEDB.Oracle.1;Persist Security Info=False;User ID=scott;Data Source=ora817;Extended Properties=""""", AllowTransactions:=True

Answer:
They are! I have written documentation for that part of the SQL*XL API that the Excel macro recorder uses to generate macro code. The SQL*XL ADI is much bigger but it is an enormous task to write the documenation for this.
If you need to do this that is not documented, just let me know.

The documentation you ask for is here:
SQL*XL API reference:
http://www.oraxcel.com/projects/sqlxl/help/vba/index.html
clsDatabase class:
http://www.oraxcel.com/projects/sqlxl/help/vba/SQLXL/Database/index.html

Still the best thing to do - and I keep stressing this! - is to record a macro in Excel to record the syntax. Just a quick copy and paste and you are done!
