Porting Excel data into Oracle Apps tables
10.03.06 at 09:57:13

SQL*XL user Banerjeer asked the following question.

Question:
How can I port/migrate the data from MS Excel sheet into Oracle11i apps table without doing any data entry. The fields in the excel sheet should populate in the desired field in the oracle11i appa table.

Answer:
Simply use the SQL*XL multiple rows insert feature to load the data directly from the worksheet into the database.
See:

You need to ensure that the column names you use in Excel are the same as in the Oracle Apps table. To get a quick list of column names you can run the desc table_name command or the SQL statement: select * from table_name where rownum <1
