06.01.06 at 09:09:25

Ann from the USA asked the following question

Question:
What is the difference between SQL*XL Universal and SQL*XL Standard?

Answer:
SQL*XL Standard is a cut down version to work only with Oracle databases through the OO4O driver. Most new features are not available in this edition.  Please see this web page for a list of differences:

Universal edition vs Standard edition

SQL*XL 4 Universal is the edition where all new features go into. The Standard edition can be regarded as the continuation of SQL*XL 3, it is Oracle through OO4O only and it can not output to anything else but Excel-Word-Outlook. It is not ADO enabled and no new features will be added to it.
