The PC I am testing SQL*XL on does not have access to our database yet. While I am waiting to get access, can I test SQL*XL on some another database?
 
Answer:
Yes you can! Especially for this we have the SQL*XL test databases. You can download it from www.oraxcel.com/downloads.
 
You can for example connect to an Access database in our test databases collection. For more information how to connect to a database see:

I just read that Microsoft has a SQL Server 2005 Express edition; also completely free. See:
