The OO4O driver is required. What is OO4O and where to get OO4O
 
Sujit from India asked the following question:
 
Question:
I am unable to connect to databases. The error SQL*XL is displaying is: "OO4O driver is required". Is OO4O part of Oracle?
 
Answer:
OO4O (Oracle Objects for OLE) is an Oracle database driver. If you just type the user name, password and database name in the SQL*XL connection dialog it will assume you connect to Oracle through the OO4O driver. In the advanced section of the connection dialog you can specify to use an ADO connection instead. ADO will allow you to connect to Oracle through OLE DB and ODBC. Furthermore, ADO allows you to connect to almost any database type.

The topic about the free Oracle 10g XE database may also be helpful here. There is a totally free to use Oracle database available:
