SQLExecute worksheet function

A new worksheet function was added:
SQLExecute and SQLExecuteVolatile
 
The functions can be used to run a SQL command from an Excel cell. Every time the formula is re-evaluated by Excel it will run.  
 
Syntax:
=sqlxl.xla!SQLExecute(SQLText)
=sqlxl.xla!SQLExecuteVolatile(SQLText)
 
The difference between these two functions is that Volatile will always execute when Excel calculates. The normal SQLExecute function will run when the function is changed or when a source cell's value is changed.
 
The worksheet function will be made available in SQL*XL 4.0.25

Mike from the USA posted an interesting question. How can a value in the database be changed when a cell value is changed.  
 
This is a good example where the SQLExecute function can be used. See:
