Event log: Errors and alerts
09.10.05 at 20:04:25
SQL*XL now logs errors and alerts to the windows event log.
Events in SQL*XL are logged to the windows event log. This is useful if you want to look back what errors were displayed in your session if you cannot remember. It can also provide vital information if you encounter a bug in the program and when you need to report that to us.
If you are not familiar with the event log please run the following command to have a look: eventvwr.msc /s
In the application section you will see all events that applications post to it. SQL*XL will post events under the source name VBRuntime.
If you run Windows 98 it is a little bit different. There is no event log in this version of windows so the log files are created in the root of your C drive as .log files. You find the same information in the log files as  you find in the event log.
